Rick Dennett is a graduate of Wesleyan University (BA cum laude) and Boston University School of Law (JD).

Rick joined Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C., Great Neck, New York where he focused on health care law while providing support to other practice areas of the firm including corporate, litigation, trusts and estates and real estate.  Soon, Rick gravitated to representing borrowers on major financing and vendor transactions, ultimately establishing the financing practice group of the firm.  In 2004, after more than 250 transactions and more than $7.5 billion of financing transactions, Rick resigned as a senior partner of Garfunkel to form Dennett Law Offices, P.C.

At DLO, Rick manages all aspects of the Firm's practice.  That practice continues Rick's focus on representing borrowers, including hospitals, nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, schools and other non-profits, in connection with the development, financing, and construction of major capital projects.  From September, 2004 through December 31, 2019, Dennett Law has represented clients in more than 200 transactions with an aggregate dollar value in excess of $13 billion.

In addition to financing transactions, Rick assists clients with post-financing compliance and loan modification issues as well as other matters including corporate, contract and real estate issues.

Rick served as an elected trustee for the Village of Kensington, Great Neck, NY for 8 years, of which he served as Deputy Mayor for 5 years.

Kevin Downes is a graduate of Haverford College (BA), New York University School of Law (JD) and New York University Leonard Stern School of Business – Graduate Division (MBA).

Kevin began his legal career with the corporate department at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler, New York, New York where his practice included matters ranging from the private placement of securities to initial and secondary public offerings, representing corporations listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange and NASDAQ, as well as closely held corporations and individuals.  

Kevin turned his focus to health care finance when he joined Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C., Great Neck, New York, where he represented hospitals and nursing homes in connection with financing of major capital projects.  Subsequent to his tenure at Garfunkel, Kevin worked for Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers negotiating swap and derivative transaction documents and then joined the public finance department at Brown & Wood, LLP, New York, New York (later Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP) and later the public finance department of McGuireWoods LLP, representing issuers, underwriters and borrowers on health care and higher education bond issues in New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Illinois and other states.

In 2013, Kevin joined Dennett Law Offices, P.C. where he continues to represent clients in connection with the financing and refinancing of major capital projects.
